Newspapers in Education has been around since 1960. We partner with Oklahomans to provide teachers and students with educational resources through The Oklahoman newspaper.  Our program reaches nearly 30% of the total statewide student population by servicing over 193,000 Oklahoma students; we have a presence in all 77 counties and are in over 600 Oklahoma schools.  NIE provides three (3) informational services to teachers and students throughout the state and we are able to provide these services free of charge thanks to our incredibly generous community of donors.  NIE provides access to the Print Replica and Digital Archives with articles dating back to 1901 in addition to fulfilling physical requests for newspapers, implementing statewide student contests, providing comprehensive curriculum inclusive of both lesson plans and student supplements, hosting teacher supply drives and issuing teacher grants.  Last school year, 70% of the schools that requested NIE resources were designated Title I (low income) schools.
