Curriculum Sponsors
The Oklahoman‘s Newspapers in Education program reaches more than 211,000 students across the state every year. Not only are students’ reading skills enhanced, their knowledge of subject matters promoting workforce development, health, financial management, Native American education, natural resource stewardship, Oklahoma history, social awareness and other various topics is increased.
The newspaper is a vital link for developing students. Researchers have shown for years that students who read the news perform higher on standardized tests and become more engaged in civics and volunteerism in their communities.
